A tarpaulin is a large sheet of strong flexible fabric often in canvas, H.D.P.E sheets, or PVC. Tarpaulins often have reinforced grommets or eyelets at the corners and along the sides to form attachment points for rope, allowing them to be tied down or suspended. Lorry tarpaulins or lorry covers are useful in covering goods in trucks and lorries during transportation.
